The Hideout Studio is a recording studio in Jutland that is out of the ordinary!
We are first and foremost an "old-school" record studio, with countless recordings of bands and artists in our studio. Of course we also deliver mixing and mastering, but what makes us unique in the industry is that in the studio we also do many producer sessions, video and photo jobs, live sessions, and we release music for our artists and bands.
That is what we call a "one-stop studio": we are with you all the way from idea to finished, released music.

The Hideout Studio is a recording studio of "the old school", with plenty of space and several separate rooms where you can look each other in the eye while you record.
The recording facilities reflect our varied work recording different genres, from jazz, rock and pop to metal and world music. The same goes for mixing & mastering, where the range of our work is clear to hear.
You can see it in the selection of microphones, monitor controllers and the option to separate the musicians while they record.
We have lots of analogue tracking gear, guitar amps, a wide range of mics, a Steinway grand piano, bass amps and an always full coffee pot. You get all of this when you hire the studio for your next recording.

A recording studio in the middle of Aalborg's music scene
The Hideout is on Gørtlervej, ten minutes from the city centre, in a city with a music scene that is hard to get bored of. Skråen has put on contemporary music concerts since 1978 and today fills the old power station Nordkraft with around 300 events a year. Studenterhuset is a regional venue run by students and volunteers, Musikkens Hus on the harbourfront brings together everything from the symphony orchestra to contemporary acts, and in early July the party moves to Skalskoven for Nibe Festival.
If you play in Aalborg yourself, a proper recording is close by: no motorway, no logistics, just an appointment and a short trip across town. Book a day in the studio, bring your material and let us capture it while it is fresh. The rest, from mix to master, we plan as we go, to fit your calendar.

We start from your project, and through professional feedback we create a unique mix together, ready for mastering.
Over the last 20 years Lucas Illanes has developed his own take on mixing, which he uses today not only at The Hideout Studio but also as a permanent teacher at the Royal Academy of Music Aarhus/Aalborg (Det Jyske Musikkonservatorium) and at workshops around Denmark.

The last step before distribution
At The Hideout Studio we have mastering in-house, and we are also known and recognised in particular for our mixing and recording.
Mastering is the final and decisive stage of music production, where your mix is polished so it sounds its best on all playback systems and platforms.
The mastering process includes, among other things, adjusting frequency balance, dynamics and stereo image to achieve a professional and cohesive sound, ready for distribution on formats such as
Online / streaming, CDs and vinyl.

Over the years the studio has brought music to life in countless line-ups, from bands recording live in the studio to solo artists who simply turn up with their voice and ideas.
We record the instruments together with you and create a creative space where you and your songs can come to life. When you hire the studio, an engineer/producer who is ready to work with you and your music is always included in the price. See studio hire prices here.
One advantage here is that our artists always have the same producer, who follows them and their music. This means the music is mixed by the same person who knows the artist and the references.
This Jutland studio also offers mastering, as well as distribution, so that after mixing you can get your track out into the world through our studio.
In short, you can hire the studio, record your song with our professional producer, get the track mixed by the producer, who then sends it for mastering and later for release, after which your music is on all the major streaming platforms in the world!
